What is Vex IQ?

​

Vex IQ is the simple snap-together (Lego like) robotics system, making it fast and easy to build an endless variety of robots. The system is ideal for elementary school students starting to explore in Robotics. VEX Robotics is the leading provider of educational and competitive robotics products to schools.

What is Vex IQ Challenge?

​

In the VEX IQ Competition teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play with other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more.

Weekly Lectures

​

Our mentors will deliver lectures, particularly tailored for first-year students. These lectures will focus on teaching engineering concepts relevant to robot design, construction, and operation. Through these lectures, students will establish a solid knowledge foundation, preparing them to embark on their robot-building journey for Vex IQ tournaments.

Weekly Hand-on Workshops

Our mentors will lead the workshops for their teams. They'll start by helping the teams become familiar with the various parts of Vex IQ. They'll then facilitate brainstorming sessions to come up with potential designs. The next step involves building the actual robot and programming it to successfully complete the tasks required in the Vex IQ challenge. Last, each team will attend Vex IQ tournament with their working robot.
